First Securities WAP Opens

China has started its first securities WAP (wireless application protocol) website in Beijing at http://www.158China.com. The wireless website provides WAP cellular phone users access to financial news, instant stock quotes, commentary and stock market advice.

In about a month, on-line stock trading services will be opened simultaneously at http://www.158China.com. The website also plans to provide customized services. Leading Web portals in China have recently opened WAP websites.

Through China's WAP mobile phone users are currently very limited, industry sources said the potential for mobile Internet services is very big in China.
