Tianjin Chosen As Net Centre

North China's Tianjin Municipality has been selected by the State Information Office as a trial city to experiment with e-commerce. Tianjin has come up with a general e-commerce outline, has selected a number of enterprises and has popularized the use of the Internet in all its business sectors under the programme.

The next stage will be for the city to develop e-commerce by launching a networking project among finance, taxation and trade sectors, and to begin a trial operation of its e-commerce network.

An industrial Internet website has been set up involving more than 500 local enterprises. The city has also launched a special training programme to help promote e-commerce.
